Stagely Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This policy explains how Stagely collects, uses, shares, and protects information in the Stagely website and app.

1. Who we are

  • Stagely is a dance studio management app for studios, staff, families, guardians, and dancers.
  • For privacy questions, account deletion, data access, or correction requests, contact hello@stagelydance.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information, such as name, email address, authentication details, display name, profile photo, family or studio role, and invitation or claim codes.
  • Dancer and roster information, such as dancer name, age, birthdate, classifications, studio connection, family connection, photos, routines, groups, class enrollment, attendance status, absence notes, competition entries, results, and routine preparation details.
  • Studio information, such as studio name, locations, rooms, teachers, staff members, branding, schedules, class details, forms, invoices, dress-code notices, updates, links, and billing notes.
  • Family information, such as family name, guardian invitations, connected dancers, messages, form acknowledgements, uploaded documents, invoice status, expense notes, and payment-related records.
  • User content, such as profile photos, dancer photos, routine images, costume or makeup references, form uploads, comments, family messages, studio announcements, and audio files uploaded by authorized studio users.
  • Technical and usage information, such as device, browser, app interaction, diagnostics, log, approximate location inferred from network data, cookie, and analytics information.

3. How we collect information

  • We collect information when users create accounts, join a family or studio, complete onboarding, upload content, send messages, submit forms, create invoices, take attendance, or use app features.
  • Studios may upload or import information about dancers, families, staff, classes, routines, competitions, forms, and invoices.
  • Families, guardians, dancers, and staff may add or submit information directly through the app.
  • We may collect website analytics through Google Analytics or similar tools. App analytics, crash reporting, messaging, payment, storage, and hosting services should be listed here before launch if enabled.

4. How we use information

  • To provide the app, including authentication, rosters, schedules, routines, music playback, forms, attendance, updates, family messaging, invoices, dress-code notices, and studio administration.
  • To connect the right people to the right studio, family, dancer, class, routine, or form.
  • To communicate about accounts, invitations, support, security, product changes, and service notices.
  • To protect the service, investigate misuse, enforce our Terms, prevent unauthorized access, and maintain backups and audit records.
  • To improve Stagely through analytics, diagnostics, product research, and feature development.
  • To comply with legal obligations, app store requirements, payment obligations, tax rules, court orders, or lawful requests.

5. Child and dancer information

  • Stagely is designed for dance studios and families. It may contain personal information about children or teens, including names, photos, attendance notes, schedules, form responses, and routine details.
  • Studios are responsible for having permission or another lawful basis to add dancer and family information to Stagely and to invite minors or families to use the app.
  • Parents and guardians may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or limits on further collection or use of information associated with their child.
  • If Stagely becomes directed to children under 13 or allows children under 13 to provide personal information directly, Stagely should implement verifiable parental consent and direct parent notice before that collection, unless a legal exception applies.
  • We do not knowingly sell child personal information or use child personal information for targeted advertising.

6. How we share information

  • Within the app, information is shared according to account roles and permissions. For example, a studio may see family, dancer, class, attendance, form, message, and invoice information connected to that studio, and a family may see information connected to its dancers.
  • We share information with service providers that help operate Stagely, such as authentication, cloud database, file storage, hosting, analytics, email, crash reporting, payment, and customer support providers.
  • We may share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or asset sale.
  • We do not sell personal information. We do not allow third-party advertising networks to use child or dancer information for behavioral advertising.

7. Payments and financial information

  • Stagely may store invoice records, balances, due dates, payment status, payment links, e-transfer instructions, tax fields, and related notes.
  • If online payments are enabled, payment card or bank details should be handled by a third-party payment processor, not stored directly by Stagely.
  • Studios remain responsible for their own billing relationship with families unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

8. Retention and deletion

  • We keep information for as long as needed to provide Stagely, operate studio seasons, maintain records, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce agreements.
  • Users may request account deletion by emailing hello@stagelydance.com. Stagely should also provide an in-app account deletion path before App Store launch.
  • Deletion may not immediately remove information that a studio must retain for legal, safety, accounting, dispute, or contract reasons. We may retain backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
  • Parents or guardians may request deletion of a child's personal information, subject to legal and operational limits.

9. Your privacy choices

  • You may access and update certain account, family, dancer, and studio information in the app.
  • You may request access, correction, export, deletion, or withdrawal of consent by contacting hello@stagelydance.com.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights under Canadian privacy law, U.S. state privacy laws, or other regional laws.
  • You can control some cookies or analytics tools through browser settings. Some settings may affect website functionality.

10. Security

  • We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
  • No online service is perfectly secure. Users should protect their passwords, invite codes, and devices, and should report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

11. International use

  • Stagely may be operated from Canada or the United States and may use service providers in other countries.
  • By using Stagely, users understand that information may be processed in countries with privacy laws different from their own.

12. Changes to this policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy as Stagely evolves. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method.
  • The updated date at the top shows when this policy was last changed.
